A real publisher. A real print shop.
Who we are
Biblio Publishing is an independent publisher and print shop in Columbus, Ohio, and a division of The Educational Publisher Inc. We began in educational publishing in the 1980s, producing course materials for instructors, and started publishing private authors soon after.
Twenty-five years later we have published more than 780 titles for over 700 authors, and we still print them ourselves — on our own presses, a few miles from where this is written.
That last part is unusual and it matters. Most publishers of our size are brokers: they send your book to a printer they have never visited and hope. When we tell you the paper is right, it is because someone here held it.
How we publish now
Everything we do for authors now runs through Biblio Nova — one complete publishing service that takes a manuscript through formatting, cover design, ISBNs, printed proofs, eBook editions and worldwide distribution, with no publishing fee and no packages to choose between. What used to take months of back and forth now takes days, and you can watch every step of it from your own author page.
What has not changed is the part that was never the machine’s job. A person here reads your book, answers your email, and tells you the truth about what it needs.
What it costs
There is no charge to publish with Biblio. You order the first printing of your own book and the publishing work is included in it — setup, formatting, cover design, ISBNs, proofs, eBook editions and distribution all come with it, not on top of it. See what your own book costs in about a minute.
Your rights
The author always retains the rights to their own book. The copyright is in your name, or your company’s. Biblio takes only the right to sell the specific edition it produced, for the term set out in your publishing agreement. You may change your book, or take it to another publisher, without our permission.
Where we are
1091 West 1st Avenue, Grandview Heights, Ohio 43212 — and yes, you can come and see the presses. Biblio serves authors across the country, but we live here, and we care what gets published in this town.
We are an employee-owned business, and an environmentally conscious one: we watch what we buy, and we recycle what we can.
Our books
The catalogue runs from university textbooks to children’s picture books to the rock-and-roll oral histories of The Vinyl Dialogues. Browse some of it here, or visit the Biblio Bookstore.

"Working with Biblio Publishing has been a wonderful experience. They are very knowledgeable and friendly. I like that you can make changes to your book at any time and that they print on demand. Prices are reasonable and they are very quick to fill orders. Also, I would not have published my book had I not met them. They were very helpful during the process of getting my book published."
